Massive Blaze Engulfs Scrap Shop in Jaunpur’s Khetasarai, Causing Heavy Losses
A massive early-morning fire engulfed a scrap shop opposite Chowdhary Market in Khetasarai, Jaunpur, causing losses worth lakhs. The blaze broke out around 5 a.m. and was spotted by a nearby tea vendor, prompting swift firefighting and security response.
According to local accounts, the fire broke out at around 5 a.m., when most shops in the area were still closed. Rajesh Yadav, who runs a tea stall nearby, noticed thick smoke and rising flames from the scrap shop and immediately alerted the shop owner. His quick response helped draw attention to the emergency before the fire could spread further to adjoining establishments.
Flammable materials stored inside the scrap shop fueled the blaze, making it difficult to control in its initial stages. Firefighting efforts were launched soon after the alert, with fire brigade personnel rushing to the spot to contain the flames. Security teams were also deployed to manage the area and prevent any additional risk to nearby shops and residents.
While no injuries have been reported so far, preliminary assessments suggest that the shop suffered extensive damage, with property losses estimated at several lakhs of rupees. Officials on the scene continued firefighting and safety operations to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and the area secured.
The incident has once again highlighted the vulnerability of densely packed market areas to early-morning fires, particularly where combustible materials are stored. Authorities are expected to review safety conditions in the locality as residents and traders assess the impact of the blaze on one of Khetasarai’s commercial hubs.
